About this site
living-abroad.org is a structured comparison of digital-nomad and long-stay visa programs. It exists because most visa information online is either outdated, copied from other blogs, or written to sell a service — and because the difference between a smooth application and a rejection is usually a detail: the exact income threshold, the insurance coverage minimum, the wording of a requirement.
Method
Every program in our database is researched from the official source hierarchy: government immigration portals, ministries, official e-visa platforms and gazettes first; established law firms only to interpret them; blogs and aggregators never. Each record stores the sources per claim, the date it was last verified, and a confidence rating. Where official sources conflict, we show a warning instead of picking a convenient number.
The dataset is maintained as a structured database and re-verified continuously — pages show their verification date. If you spot an error, please tell us: hello@living-abroad.org.
Funding
The site is funded through affiliate partnerships with some of the insurance providers we list. Commissions never influence rankings — plans are ordered by how well they match each visa's published requirement, then by price. Details in our affiliate disclosure.
Who runs this
living-abroad.org is built and operated by Expato, a publisher of independent education- and relocation-focused information portals. Contact and legal details are in the imprint.
What this site is not
We are not a law firm, not a visa agency and not an insurance broker. Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice. We link to the competent authorities on every page so you can verify everything yourself — please do, before making decisions.
