Ob vorübergehend Ansässige das öffentliche System nutzen dürfen, wie die Aufteilung zwischen öffentlich und privat funktioniert und die Notrufnummer — für jedes Land, das wir abdecken.
Die Frage, die bei der Ankunft zählt: Kannst du bei einem vorübergehenden Aufenthalt das öffentliche Gesundheitssystem tatsächlich nutzen? In den meisten Ländern lautet die ehrliche Antwort „nicht ohne private Versicherung“ — der Zugang zum öffentlichen System ist in der Regel an lokale Beschäftigung oder Beiträge geknüpft, nicht allein an den Wohnsitz.
Die Tabelle fasst pro Land zusammen, wie das System aufgebaut ist, ob vorübergehend Ansässige es nutzen können und welche Notrufnummer du in deinem Telefon speichern solltest. Sie ergänzt die Krankenversicherung, ersetzt sie aber nicht: Selbst dort, wo es öffentliche Versorgung gibt, ist es die private Absicherung, die die meisten Visa verlangen — und die dich schnell zum Termin bringt.

Können digitale Nomaden im Ausland das öffentliche Gesundheitssystem nutzen?
Selten kostenlos. Öffentliche Systeme werden in der Regel aus lokalen Steuern oder Sozialbeiträgen finanziert, daher benötigen vorübergehend Ansässige meist eine private Versicherung, bis sie vor Ort beschäftigt sind oder einzahlen. Die Tabelle zeigt die Antwort pro Land.
Brauche ich trotzdem eine Versicherung, wenn ein Land gute öffentliche Krankenhäuser hat?
Fast immer ja — sowohl weil der Zugang als Nicht-Beitragszahler begrenzt ist, als auch weil die meisten Nomadenvisa eine private Absicherung vorschreiben, ganz gleich wie gut das öffentliche System ist.
Wie lautet die Notrufnummer dort, wohin ich gehe?
Das ist unterschiedlich — 112 in der gesamten EU, anderswo aber abweichend. Die Tabelle führt sie pro Land auf; speichere sie, bevor du reist.
Ist private Gesundheitsversorgung im Ausland teuer?
Das schwankt enorm und ist oft deutlich günstiger als in den Vereinigten Staaten. Viele Nomaden zahlen routinemäßige Behandlungen in Privatkliniken aus eigener Tasche und verlassen sich bei allem Größeren auf die Versicherung.
